Myron Callender joined Marcotte Ford after a long tenure in leadership roles within the car business. His career in automotive started twenty years ago in sales, moved into finance, and grew into senior leadership. He grew up in Springfield, where he is raising his family and he has always paid attention to how a dealership treats people. When he heard Marcotte was looking for a General Sales Manager, it felt like the perfect fit.
Marcotte Feels Different
What struck Myron right away was the level of repeat business in our store. In his first few weeks, he estimates that roughly 80-85% of buyers have made previous purchases with Marcotte Ford. He credits that to the Marcotte legacy and the reputation for dependability we have built over three generations in business. Customers look forward to seeing us when it’s time for service or their next vehicle. Myron will focus on welcoming people who haven’t worked with Marcotte yet and showing them why so many do.
During the hiring process Myron met leaders across departments to make sure the match worked both ways. He was instantly struck by Mike Marcotte’s energy, relatability, and openness to ideas, with an emphasis on planning changes carefully and communicating them clearly. On day one, General Manager Mike Filomeno walked him through the building to introduce the staff. Managers checked in throughout the week to help him get settled, right down to pointing out where the good pens are. Small things, but they say a lot about our culture of putting people first.
A True Leader
Integrity is a huge priority to Myron so he was drawn to Marcotte Ford largely for the commitment to community. Customers feel comfortable working with him and trust that he is honest and upfront with them.
Myron takes pride in the fact that when he finalizes a deal he could bump into that customer in the grocery store or around town and feel confident about seeing them because he knows he provided a positive experience. At the end of the day, he finds himself coming home smiling, feeling that this is where he is supposed to be as he looks ahead to what our team can build together.
A One-Stop Shop
The various conveniences offered on the Marcotte Ford campus put in perspective for Myron the unique things that happen here every day. Services like LugNutz Cafe, Marcotte Commercial Truck Center, Rental Department, and Mobile Service exemplify how we seamlessly accommodate customers with what they need. Everything runs smoothly with our team who keeps decisions quick and the experience consistent.
Myron sees that structure as the foundation for a smoother customer experience, and it is how he plans to lead the sales floor. His priority is aligning teams so the handoff between sales, service, rentals, and mobile support feels seamless, whether it is your first visit or your fifth. If you have not worked with Marcotte before, Myron wants it to feel familiar quickly and for every return visit to be even easier.
Looking Ahead
The industry continues to change, and Myron sees value in meeting customers where they are. Electric vehicles have a place, and hybrids offer a practical balance that suits many drivers. BlueCruise hands-free driving shows how quickly technology is advancing, though attentive driving still matters. On the product side, the move toward trucks and SUVs feels natural as fuel efficiency improves across the lineup.
As he settles into his new role, Myron often finds himself coming home smiling at the end of the day. He has a strong sense that he is where he’s supposed to be and has high hopes for what we will continue to build together.
If you haven’t met Myron yet, stop in and say hello. Ask questions, take your time, and see how the process feels. He’ll be the first to tell you that’s what keeps people coming back.
